The Golden Fisherman

Point Cadet, Biloxi

#0686

The one ton, 16 foot Golden Fisherman statue lays toppled from it's base by Hurricane Katrina at Point Cadet Biloxi, Mississippi. Commissioned by Biloxi Mayor Jerry O'Keefe in 1975 and crafted of melted down metal from local shrimp boats by Ocean Springs sculptor Harry Reeks, the statue was created to honor the local seafood industry. The collapsed remains of the Biloxi-Ocean Spring bridge provides the background.
